 Top Image - Last Edit This intertitle was used in replace a deleted 'gag' about the wet diaper. Bottom Image - 1950s Reissue Chaplin feels something wet and looks up to see if it was raining. This small bit was edited out of the last edited film and replaced with a gag using the name for the child as being 'John.' No name for the child was given in this earlier version. Chaplin author, Theodore Huff mentions this scene was offensive to early audiences. |
