Kevin Brownlow and David Gill Documentary Collections A USA shop for DVD and VHS at Amazon ![]() |
| Buster Keaton, D.W. Griffith, Harold Lloyd and more Kevin Brownlow and David Gill were 'the pioneers' in saving the history of silent films. The Hollywood Series: A Celebration of American Silent Film spawned many fine series including The Unknown Chaplin Series, Buster Keaton: A Hard Act to Follow, D.W. Griffith - Father of Film: Harold Lloyd: The Third Genius and more. Gill passed away a few years agon, but Kevin Brownlow continues to create and direct new projects like Cecil B. De Mille: America Epic. This collection listed are ONLY available on VHS. They are also getting rare to find and are mainly available used from private owners. Hopefully in the future new interest in the silent films will encourage these VALUABLE collections to be produced on DVD! These series are occasionally seen on Turner Classic Movies.
